The kit adopts common alkaline lysis method and absorbs target plasmids based on the specificity of the DNA absorption column to complete plasmid extraction, which applies to 1-5 ml fresh E. coli culture medium, with the max. absorption amount of 30 μg plasmids, with the entire extraction process only takes 20-25 min; the quality of the plasmid extraction is related to the copy number of plasmids, host bacteria, the way of lysis and bacterial concentration; the extracted target plasmid applies to routine molecular cloning experiments, including digestion, PCR, DNA sequencing and some common transfections. For experiment with stricter transfection, please purchase the endotoxin-free plasmid extraction kit plus (Cat No. SP0201) of the same series, with endotoxin content < 0.1 EU/μg.

Taking plasmid pUC57 as example, if cultivation is made via our developed plasmid fermentation medium (Cat No. SDM0101) without animal-derived components, 15-20 μg plasmid can be extracted from 2 ml bacterial solution; the yield of plasmid is 2-3 times higher than that of conventional LB culture medium.
